All Levels Flow: Classes begin with gentle stretches, a flowing sequence of sun salutations synchronized with breathing techniques, standing and balancing poses, as well as core work to strengthen your body, increase your stamina and flexibility. Transitions between postures are simple and props are used to modify postures making them accessible to every ability, age, and fitness level. Ideal for transitioning from beginning to intermediate level of practice, students will be exposed to a stronger flow sequence and begin learning more advanced poses.
Chair Pilates & Yoga: Pilates & Yoga for Seniors, Athletes or those Rehabilitating. The chair is a multi-purpose tool to anchor, stabilize and support the exercisers. We use the chair for seated, standing support, stretching and relaxing. Good posture and proper body mechanics are important throughout your life, especially if you have osteoarthritis, osteoporosis, or osteopenia. Benefits include Improved Circulation & Cardiovascular Conditioning; Increased Muscle Strength & range of motion, agility, balance and coordination; This improves participants functional capacities, physical fitness level, and sense of well being. It is designed to improve activities for daily living. It is in accordance with the Surgeon General's recommendation for frequent exercise. It includes a variety of multi-level and equipment based exercises for individuals who are fit and active, as well as the sedentary, intimidated, unfamiliar with exercise, those entering post rehabilitative programs, and/or those who seek a positive social environment.
Classic Mat Pilates: Joseph Pilates’original floor exercise method of total body conditioning. Instructors focus on core strengthening techniques to improve overall posture, alignment and flexibility, along with articulation of movement, neck and back muscle relaxation, pelvic floor control and breath patterns. This class is for all levels of ability, and is a perfect complement to cardiovascular exercises, athletes and general rehabilitation, without building bulk or stressing joints. Pilates is also recommended as pre- & post-partum programs, helping build the abdominal muscles connection.
Gentle and Restorative Yoga: A relaxing class designed for rejuvenation and treating fatigue, and also an excellent choice for seniors with limited mobility, perinatal mothers, students suffering from chronic illness or injuries, or those newer to yoga. Class begins with a few minutes of gentle movements and stretching to ease restlessness in the mind and prepare the body for relaxation. Restorative postures, soothing and well-supported by blankets, blocks, or other props follow, held for several minutes at a time, allowing for chronic tension to be released.
Gentle Yoga with Relaxation: Classes begin with slow, gentle movements working up to standing and balancing poses to ease restlessness in the mind. Each class includes 15 minutes of relaxation, where students learn and practice effective breathing and visualization techniques. Ideal for transitioning from beginning to intermediate level of practice this class is designed to promote confidence, empowerment and trust within oneself. Appropriate for all levels.
Guided Meditation w/Breathwork: Guided meditation relaxes the body, relieves stress and boosts the immune system. Students learn and practice a variety of breathing (pranayama) exercises. Breathwork exercise balances the nervous system, increases energy and focus, and calms the mind. You will leave this class feeling serene and revitalized. Appropriate for all levels.
Pilates Fusion: A unique mix of both PILATES and YOGA in one energizing workout. Pilates and yoga share 5 key priniciples: breathwork, flexibility, concentration, precise whole-body movement and balanced muscle development. The moves fit perfectly together to form a class filled with choreography that’s fun and challenging. Think sculpted abdominals, increased overall core strength, and greater stability.
Stretch Fusion: A hybrid class that develops and stretches your body. Improve your coordination, balance, core strength and flexibility. Instruction and attention to the principles of breathing and posture as well as precise alignment, stability, firmness and comfort while holding poses are emphasized.
Vinyasa Flow: Vinyasa means "breath-synchronized movement." Classes involve moving gracefully through a continual flow of poses synchronized with breathing techniques. The smooth, continuous flow deepens breathing, increases endurance, and will test the edge of your balance and flexibility. Suitable for Advanced Beginners or Intermediate students who have an understanding of basic postures and are ready to deepen their practice.
Yoga Stretch: This class is designed for people who want to improve their flexibility, are new to yoga, or experienced students looking to refine & improve their practice. Focused on the fundamentals of alignment and balance; breath awareness and mental clarity; and the function of each posture from a therapeutic perspective. Instructors are well versed in modifications using blankets, blocks and straps supporting the body through postures. Appropriate and beneficial for all levels/abilities and those with injury and/or chronic pain.
